How to Use Visual Thinking to Facilitate Intrinsic Motivation, Critical Thinking, and Peer Collaboration

During this workshop, instructors will engage in discussion and participate in activities to become oriented with the concept and uses of visual literacy, including the ways in which it can be applied in a classroom setting to promote critical thinking.

Learning Objectives: To demonstrate that images (or visual literacy) can be used in the composition classroom to motivate students to think critically and integrate the ideas of others into their own process, while also influencing the ideas of others through their own work.

Special Requirements: Computer with projector

Location: The Writers' Center or classroom

Duration: 45 minutes
