Dr. John Bladek

Dr. John Bladek

Biography

John grew up in Spokane, Washington and discovered the joys of writing in first grade when he ripped off Herman Melville and wrote his own illustrated version of Moby Dick. He also found that he liked history and combined it with writing, earning a BA and an MA in History at Washington State University. A PhD.  soon followed from the University of Washington, where he studied the awesomely named 19th century political party, the Know Nothings.  He loves all kinds of history, and if you ask you may get a free lecture. John now writes books for children. His first middle grade novel, ROLL UP THE STREETS, a mystery involving awful smells and the dangers of brainwashing corndogs, came out in 2010.
