Academic Excellence

Spring Fling-Greek-30

Sorority and fraternity students are held to a high standard at EWU, especially in the realm of academics. The Interfraternity and Panhellenic member chapters have different grade requirements to maintain good standing as a chapter, encouraging the national organizations to set the bar high for potential new members.

For women interested in Panhellenic recruitment, we recommend you have at least a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0, or a cumulative college GPA of 2.8 to have the most options available to you during recruitment. Many sororities require at least a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA. You will need to submit your grades as part of your sorority application and fax a transcript with your cumulative GPA on it to the Office of Student Activities, Involvement & Leadership prior to the beginning of recruitment.

For Interfraternity recruitment, most chapters require a 2.5 GPA to become a fully initiated member. Men participating in Fall Formal Recruitment will also need to submit their cumulative GPA as part of the application process and fax in a transcript with their cumulative GPA to the Office of Student Activities, Involvement & Leadership.

For individuals interested in NPHC or DGC organizations, each chapter has an individual standard that looks at a potential new member’s college grades; however, a 2.5 minimum GPA is recommended.
