Fraternity & Sorority Governing Councils
In the past year, the Diversified Greek Council and the National Pan-Hellenic Council have joined forces to serve as governing body for the ten (10) culturally-founded sororities and fraternities at Eastern Washington University. Peer-elected officers work closely to sustain and further community between organizations and promote member organizations at EWU and throughout the Cheney community. As leaders in their fraternal community, each officer works to uphold high standards and positively represent their organizations. While the chapters governed by DGC & NPHC are smaller in size, relative to IFC & Panhellenic chapters, they have a significant impact on campus and within the community. DGC member organizations are highly dedicated to serving the community and engaging in philanthropic work.
To learn more about how you can be a part of a DGC member organization or to learn more about how you can run for a Council position, please contact Samantha Armstrong at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is comprised of peer-elected executive officers who serve as the governing body for the six North-American Interfraternity Conference fraternities that reside primarily on Greek Row. IFC officers work together to ensure that the IFC member fraternities have the support and resources to thrive on campus and in the EWU community.

The Panhellenic Council is the governing body for all four National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities that reside primarily on Greek Row at Eastern Washington University. The women that serve on the Panhellenic Council were elected by their community to ensure that all member organizations are living their values and to help provide the support and resources for all of the groups to thrive.
The Panhellenic Council has a great website that explores each Sorority Chapter in more detail, check it out here!

TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE
Collectively, the sorority and fraternity councils at Eastern Washington University exist to help all sororities and fraternities on campus live their values and aid in the development of men and women who belong to each chapter. All councils represent sorority/fraternity interests on and off campus, help coordinate recruitment and membership intake efforts, engage in community service and philanthropic work, promote the benefits of joining a sorority or fraternity and sponsor development opportunities for all chapters.
