Assessing Student Learning | Making a Difference
WHAT WE ARE ALL ABOUT
SAIL believes in providing engagement opportunities that promote a transformational journey of self-discovery within their communities.
WHAT WE VALUE
INTEGRITY | We believe in helping students live values based lives. The programs, services, and advising we engage in are grounded in helping students become values based leaders.
CREATIVE EXPLORATION | We believe in offering events, educational programs, development tools, and advising that allows students to enhance, explore and creatively shape their experience while at EWU.
INCLUSIVITY | We believe in the richness and power of a diverse community and we use this belief to guide every program and leadership initiative we sponsor. Building bridges that honor differences with understanding and respect ensures that EWU is a vibrant learning community.
ENGAGEMENT | We believe that students who are invested in their college experience are more likely to excel as students and graduates of EWU.
LIFELONG LEARNING | We believe in designing co-curricular experiences that foster intellectual curiosity and instill a passion for learning.
GETTING INVOLVED MATTERS
Eastern Washington University and the SAIL staff believe(s) that involvement outside the classroom matters and contributes to student success. We take student development seriously and provide opportunities for co-curricular and extra-curricular involvement to help with student development and learning. We believe in knowing how successful are we and work hard to provide an accurate picture of how we contribute to the institutional mission of EWU and overall student learning and development.
OUR DIRECTION | SAIL LEARNING OUTCOMES
For students to be successful, it is important for them to be aware of what we hope they are learning and how we hope they are developing. We know that if students understand why a program or service matters and why they should get involved or what they can get out of it, they are more likely to engage fully in the college experience.
