Counseling and Psychological Services

OUR MISSION: The Mission of Counseling and Psychological Services is to support and promote the emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual health and wellness of students, staff and faculty of Eastern Washington University. To this end, CAPS provides individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and outreach programming for university students, along with consultation services for the entire campus community.

DIVERSITY STATEMENT: Counseling and Psychological Services' staff are committed to promoting inclusion, and the affirmation of diversity in its broadest sense. We strive to provide respectful treatment to people of every background who seek services, train, or work at CAPS. Our staff value the richness brought by the intersections of gender, ethnicity, race, sexual/affectional orientation, age, physical attributes, as well as other personal and social characteristics that comprise individual identity.

WE TAKE A STANCE AGAINST DISCRIMINATION AND OPPRESSION IN ANY FORM. Our Center can provide a facilitated space for dealing with the impact of policy and oppression individually or with a group. We encourage you to reach out to us if you are struggling with finding effective ways to manage the personal impact of the political climate. CAPS staff can also offer support if you are experiencing negative treatment, threats or subtler forms of oppression because of your race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, religious affiliation, or other aspects of your identity.
