Exemption for Veterans for the Purpose of Resident Tuition at Eastern Washington University

Effective July 24, 2015, in conjunction with the federal Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act of 2014, Washington State law allows veterans that seperated from the military within the last three years to pay the resident tuition rate. Effective May 4, 2017, it includes spouses and children that are entitled to transferred federal post-9/11 educational benefits from active duty military persons that are stationed outside the state of Washington. To qualify students must complete this declaration with appropriate documentation and return to the Veterans Resource Center.

Active Duty Personnel Stationed in Washington State and Spouses & Dependents

Active duty military personnel and their spouses & dependents qualify to pay resident tuition rates while the military individual is stationed in Washington State.  Exempted resident status is granted upon satisfactory completion of this form, receipt of a copy of military orders, and copy of the front & back of your military (or dependent) ID card.

Exempt Resident Status for Washington National Guard Personnel

Non-resident National Guard personnel taking over six credits qualify to pay resident tuition rates while in the Washington National Guard.  Exempted resident status is granted upon satisfactory completion of this form, receipt of a front and back copy of military ID and documentation from commanding officer or personnel office verifying current Unit of Assignment.
