When is my Abstract or Creative Works Description Due?

  • Graduate abstracts or creative works descriptions are due Friday, March 13, 2015.
  • Abstracts or creative works descriptions may be submitted via the Symposium website starting Friday, February 6, 2015.

How long is my abstract or creative works description supposed to be?

  • Abstracts & creative works descriptions are limited to approximately 200 words (1100 characters). You do NOT need to include the title, author(s), mentor(s), and department in this word count--ONLY the abstract text. The title, author(s), mentor(s), and department are entered in separate fields on the submission form.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in PLAIN TEXT. This means any special characters or symbols will not be expressed in your submitted abstract. If you have characters and/or symbols in your abstract, please email a Microsoft Word document containing your title, author(s), mentor(s), department, and abstract to the Symposium Office (ewusymposium@ewu.edu) after submitting your online abstract application.

Does my faculty mentor have to approve my abstract or creative works description?

  • Yes, your faculty mentor MUST read and approve your abstract or creative works description before you submit. In addition, a copy of your abstract or creative works description will be sent to your faculty mentor when you submit it to us. Please include your mentor's name and contact information in your abstract application.

Where do I submit my abstract or creative works description?

  • Online. Click the link provided for abstract or creative works description submissions located on the main page.
  • After we receive your abstract or creative works description, we will send you a confirmation email.
  • Additional information regarding the symposium will be sent to the email address that you provide with your submission.
