MS CS Admissions

The application process for graduate school is a joint department/ graduate school process.  The application for graduate school is an online application, submitted to the graduate office, along with transcripts from every university you have attended, and TOEFL scores if you are an international student.  The EWU graduate office will review your transcripts and provide the department with a determination of whether or not you are eligible for graduate study at Eastern Washington University.

The department reviews that information, in conjunction with other materials you will provide directly to us.  Those materials include a resume and a cover letter discussing your reasons for pursuing a master's degree, the focus of knowledge you want to explore, and an evaluation of your ability to complete this degree. This letter should make the case for why you should be admitted to graduate school for the Master of Science in Computer Science degree.

In addition to the resume and cover letter, if you are not a graduate of a computer science degree from Eastern Washington University, you will need to submit a completed departmental questionnaire and two letters of recommendation, at least one from a computer science instructor or equivalent.

You can send your supplemental application materials, described above, to the Computer Science Department at 319F Computing & Engineering Building, Cheney, WA 99004, or email them to
