Student Advocacy and Violence Prevention

The Violence Prevention Student Advocate is a resource for people who have been affected by sexual assault, rape, intimate partner violence or stalking. Help is available for people regardless of their gender or sex. The VPSA will privately offer support and information on the options available: how to obtain an order for protection, working with the police, filing a report, help with contacting professors, addressing housing issues, and referrals to counselors and resources on and off campus. The student advocate is located at URC 201, or phone 509.359.6429. (Learn about SRR.)

Persons who have used advocacy services at EWU may take the Advocacy Survey.

First Responders

Students, faculty and staff who have concerns, for self or others, because of power-based personal violence can talk with staff and faculty members who have been trained as First Responders. First Responders are qualified to listen to stories of victimization or fear and discuss options, including referring persons affected by stalking, partner violence or sexual violence to support and services they might need.
