Family Weekend

April 27-29, 2012

Students and Families, we are happy to announce that Family Weekend will be held from Friday, April 27th until Sunday, April 29th this year.  There are many events happening around the region and we are doing our best to capture as many as possible so that students and their families can enjoy some quality, fun time together. 

Our schedule for this year's Family Weekend is listed below.  There will be tours of the Turnbull Wildlife Refuge area located just outside of Cheney on Saturday.  A bus holding up to 24 individuals will be leaving EWU at 9:45am and 12:45pm for tours, although individuals can also drive themselves to the refuge as well.  Eagle Entertainment will also be hosting their Club Vegas activities beginning at 6pm in the PUB Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) on Saturday evening.  This will provide opportunities for students and their families to win prizes like tickets to EWU athletic events or gift certificates to area restaurants.  Following Club Vegas will be a performance by comedian, magician, and illusionist Joseph Tran.  His performance will begin around 9:00pm in the Showalter Auditorium.

FRIDAY

7:00pm: Open Mic Night, in front of Baldy's inside the Pence Union Building

9:00pm: Residence Hall Association (RHA) Bingo Night!, LLC Lounge

SATURDAY

9:00am-Noon: Family Weekend Information Tent, Outside, in front of the Bookstore (this location will move inside the PUB if weather is poor)

Students and Parents can purchase discount tickets for various activities from the Bookstore.  Click here for activity information.

9:45am: Campus Recreation bus leaves PUB parking lot for Turnbull Wildlife Refuge Tours (up to 24 people, first come first serve)

11:00am: EWU Volleyball Scrimmage, upper gym of the Phase complex

12:00pm: EWU Soccer Scrimmage, EWU Soccer Field

12:45pm: Campus Recreation bus leaves PUB parking lot for Turnbull Wildlife Refuge Tours (up to 24 people, first come first serve)

2:00pm: Red-White Spring Football Game, Roos Field

6:00pm: Club Vegas- Receive poker chips to play Blackjack, Poker, Roulette and other games to win raffle tickets that will be drawn for prizes...take fun photos with family and friends throughout the event!  Light refreshments provided.  Located in the PUB MPR.

9:00pm: Joseph Tran, Comedian/Magician/Illusionist, Showalter Auditorium (guided groups will be provided from MPR to Showalter Auditorium)

SUNDAY

9:00am-2:30pm: Sunday Brunch, Tawanka Main Street Dining location ($9.95 or one meal count)
