Media Inquiries
Most journalists are sincere folks trying to do a good job. They want to get the information for their story - and they want to get it right. Sometimes, the stories are good news for the university; sometimes they're not.
We at Eastern Washington University - and the public - are best served if we cooperate and provide accurate information to the news media. This policy does not imply censorship. We would like for the news media to make contact first with the media relations specialist, who will then guide the media to the correct person for response.
- Who should respond to the media
- The nitty gritty of talking to the media
- Spotting possible media issues
- 12 Tips for working with the news media
- Op-Ed writing & submission tips
This gives the media relations specialist a way of monitoring the volume of requests that come to the university and determining what the media's "hot topics" are.
