Total Cost:  $55.1 million

The restoration will address deferred maintenance issues, a comprehensive review of current building code vis a vis Patterson Hall, substantially increase the lifecycle of the building and address critical life safety issues such as fire detection and suppression, indoor air quality, ADA upgrades. Building systems to be improved are exteriors; seismic superstructure; elevators; mechanical/electrical infrastructure into the building envelope; heating ventilation equipment, distribution systems and temperature controls; plumbing systems; fire protection, detection and reporting systems; built-in equipment and specialties; interior finishes; access and security systems. LEEDS Silver Certification will be the minimum program sustainability requirement for building design and construction.

Status:   Construction Phase Scheduled to be completed Summer 2014


Science One - Chemistry & Physics

Description:  EWU expects that over the next ten years, its student population will grow by approximately twenty percent. Increased regional demand for engineering, healthcare and growing opportunities for undergraduate and graduate healthcare education at Riverpoint Campus in Spokane will mean that a large share of the additional students will be seeking science related degrees. This will translate to a substantial increase in the demand for basic science courses that serve as prerequisites to these degrees.

Eastern Washington University will achieve its mission by providing:

  The proposed Science One Facility will directly contribute to provision of an excellent student-centered learning environment and exceptional resources and facilities. It will lend support to providing high quality, integrated and interdependent programs.

Status:  Pre - Design Phase will be complete July 2010.  Design Phase is expected to begin in July 2013.  Construction is expected to begin in July 2015.


New Residence Hall

Description: Construction of new 350 bed residence hall for under classman.

Status:  Design Phase will be complete December 2011.  Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2012.


Arts Complex Fire Alarm and Access Control Upgrade

Description: Replacement of fire alarm system with new state of the art system.  Replacement of all existing exterior doors and storefronts with new system to include electronic access control system.
